1 dead, 2 hospitalized after Casper crash

CASPER, Wyo. — One man has died after a late-night crash south of Casper, Wyoming on Sunday.

Wyoming Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle rollover near milepost 72 on Highway 487 at about 11 p.m. A Ford F-150 had been travelling north on Wyoming 487 when it failed to make the curve onto Wyoming 220, driving off the road and overturning. At the scene officers found three men from Casper, Wyoming in the vehicle.

The front passenger, 24-year-old Brandon West, died at the scene of the crash. West was not wearing his seat belt.

The 23-year-old driver and 24-year-old passenger were both wearing their seat belts and were transported to the Wyoming Medical Center for injuries sustained in the crash.

Driver fatigue and speed are being investigated as possible contributing factors.

This is the 103rd fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2019 compared to 64 in 2018, 93 in 2017, and 73 in 2016 to date.
