Two injured in Rapid City car vs. motorcycle accident

RAPID CITY, S.D. -

Traffic was backed up nearly a mile on Friday morning in Rapid City after a car collided with a motorcycle.

Police were called to the intersection of North Elk Vale Road and Cheyenne Boulevard just after 7 a.m. Authorities say a westbound car was turning onto Elk Vale Road and sideswiped a motorcycle heading northbound.

Two riders were injured in the accident with non-life-threatening injuries. One rider was sent to Regional Health Rapid City Hospital. They were both wearing helmets.

The driver of the passenger car was uninjured. 

The incident remains under investigation.
