Water service temporarily restored for Deadwood Avenue area

The latest on a water line break on Deadwood Avenue.

Water service has been temporarily restored. Service will shut down again at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday until repairs are finished.

Water service suspended for Deadwood Avenue area after line break

11:55 a.m.

A water line break on Deadwood Avenue is affecting water service and traffic. Reported Monday morning, the break affects a 16-inch water main. 

Water service has been suspended to Black Hills Energy and U-Haul on Deadwood Avenue as well as businesses and some residences along Krebs Street.  Service should be restored later Monday. 

One lane of southbound traffic on Deadwood Avenue is shut down and will reopen Tuesday when crews are finished with repairs.

No cause has been determined for the break, according to Rapid City Communications Coordinator Darrell Shoemaker.
