Man charged with burglarizing WY governor's home

CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Wyoming authorities have arrested a man who they say activated a fire alarm at Gov. Matt Mead's home and hid inside.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol believes Antonie Lewis, 35, entered the Cheyenne home around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday and set off the alarm. Lewis was quickly discovered hiding inside and was taken into custody without incident.

Lewis is charged with aggravated burglary and criminal entry.

According to the WHP, neither the governor nor his family were harmed. For the foreseeable future, there will be a noticeable, increased level of security in and around Mead's home.

No further details are being released, as the investigation is ongoing. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation has been asked to assist in this investigation.
