Stevens, Central and Douglas boys clinch state tournament berths

Last year, Pierre defeated Rapid City Stevens in double overtime in the opening round of the State 'AA' Boys Basketball Tournament.

The two teams squared off again on Saturday night in the Round of 16.

Cooper Bowman scored 25 points to lead the Raiders over the Governors, 60-45. Connor King added 17 points for Stevens.

The Raiders advance to the State AA Boys Basketball Tournament for the third year in a row.

Meanwhile, Rapid City Central also qualified for the state tournament after a convincing win over Spearfish, 100-41.

In addition, the Douglas boys basketball team is heading to the State AA Tournament for the first time in school history.

The Patriots defeated Brandon Valley in double overtime, 72-69.
