RAPID CITY, S.D. -

Mathematically, the Rapid City Rush still have a chance to make the playoffs. But with only two months remaining in the regular season, time is running out.

The Rush entered Friday night's game against Utah 19 points behind Wichita for the fourth and final playoff spot.

But Rapid City made up a little ground as they Rush edged the Grizzlies, 6-5.

Utah scored first with a goal by Brendan Harms.

Moments later, Kenton Miller tapped the puck by Utah goaltender Angus Redmond to tie it up at one a piece. In fact, the Rush scored six unanswered goals to take a 6-1 lead in the second period.

The Grizzlies battled back by scoring four more goals. But it wasn't enough as the Rush earn their second win this week.

Jack Walker led the Rush with one goal and three assists, while Miller finished with two goals.

Adam Vay, in his eighth straight start, stopped 17 of 22 shots for the Rapid City Rush.

Both teams will play for the final time this season on Saturday night, marking the Rush's "Marvel Super Hero Night."

The puck will drop at 7:05 p.m. at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.
