Baked, frosted, delivered: YFS thanks supporters

RAPID CITY, S.D. -

Youth and Family Services (YFS) prepared 10,212 cookies – that’s 851 dozen, which they’ve been working on since Monday.

The cookies are part of a 20-year Valentine tradition at YFS. Staff members bake, frost, and then deliver the sugar cookies to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to their organization and its mission of nurturing healthy children and stronger families.

On Thursday, the staff members will deliver one dozen cookies to each of their 851 donors, from Belle Fourche to Hot Springs and everywhere in between.

“From the bottom of our hearts, we’re grateful for the support of so many people,” said Darcie Decker, community outreach coordinator at YFS. “Without the donor support, the community support, Youth and Family Services would not be here. So, we’re grateful to all those who help us.”

The cookies are made with Youth and Family Services’ very own secret recipe and are reported not to stick around for long once delivered.
