BLM investigates killings of wild horses in Wyoming

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is investigating the shooting deaths of five federally protected wild horses in south-central Wyoming.

BLM spokeswoman Sarah Beckwith says all the horses were found dead over the last few months on public land in the remote Red Desert area.

Beckwith tells KTWO-AM that three horses were found in early November and another two last month.

She says she doesn't have any details on how the horses were shot.

Wild horses are protected a federal law.

Beckwith says the BLM is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those involved.
