Annual Rodeo Rapid City comes to a close

RAPID CITY, S.D. -

The 41st annual Rodeo Rapid City wrapped up on Saturday with the final two PRCA rodeo performances.

Over the past nine days, around 600 cowboys and cowgirls competed for their share of around three hundred thousand dollars in prize money.

Jake Fulton from Rosebud, South Dakota posted the quickest time in the steer wrestling during Saturday afternoon's performance with a time of 6.3 seconds.

Meanwhile, world champion JJ Elshere from Hereford, South Dakota scored 82 points in the saddle bronc. He moved in to second place overall behind Jesse Wright who scored 84 points earlier this week.

Jesse Sheffield and Derek Younger, both from Colorado, turned in a time of 5.7 seconds and moved into third place overall in the team roping.
