RAPID CITY, S.D. -

The Rapid City Rush struggled through the first half of the season winning just 11 out of 36 games. While the players are still adjusting to a new coach and new teammates, the team continues to make progress every week.

The Rush opened the second half of the season on Friday night against another divisional opponent, the Utah Grizzlies.

Peter Sivak's third goal of the game helped lead the Rush over the Grizzlies, 4-3 in overtime.

With 6:15 gone by in the first period, Sivak scored his first goal of the game to give the Rush an early lead.

However, Utah answered with two power play goals to make it 2-1 after the first frame.

Sivak then tied the game at 2-2 when he scored his second goal in the second period.

Utah answered in the final frame. Former Rush captain Ryan Walters scored his 15th goal of the season to put the Grizzlies back in the driver's seat.

But Rapid City responded with 11:11 left in regulation. Sivak flung the puck towards the net which was deflected in by Jack Walker and that tied it up at 3-3.

Then in overtime, Sivak found the back of the net to complete his second hat trick of the season and give the Rush a 4-3 victory.

The Rush will host Utah on Saturday night which is "Rush Fights Cancer" night. The Puck will drop at 7:05 p.m.
