Bond reduction denied for woman charged in Rapid City fatal shooting

Cierra Walks, 19, appeared in court Tuesday for a status hearing.

She is being charged as an accessory to first-degree murder. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 5 years.

Maricelo Garcia, 21, is accused of fatally shooting Clinton Farlee, 20, in October of 2017.

Walks allegedly drove the vehicle that helped the duo flee to Porcupine, S.D.

Walks' attorney, Paul Brankin, asked the judge to reduce the $100,000 bond. The judge denied that request.

Walks has a scheduled motion hearing for Jan. 16, followed by her trial. The trial begins Feb. 20.
