Rapid City K9 team catches wrong-way driving suspect

A K9 team tracked down a man who police say abandoned a vehicle after driving the wrong way in downtown Rapid City.

New Year's Eve, police observed a vehicle traveling the wrong way down Main Street - a one-way street. An officer activated his emergency lights, and the vehicle turned around before coming to a stop in front of 512 Main St. Then, the driver ran from the vehicle.

Luckily, a police K9 team was nearby and found the suspect. Police say the man became compliant upon contact with the K9 team.

Police identified the man as Justin Livermont, 30, of Wall.

Livermont was arrested for the wrong-way violation and obstruction.
