College Basketball: SD Mines men, women sweep Nebraska Christian

The South Dakota Mines men's basketball team lost a heart breaker to Regis University on Saturday by a score of 84-82.

The loss dropped the Hardrockers back down to .500 with a record of 5-5.

South Dakota Mines will resume conference play on December 30 against New Mexico Highlands.

But in the meantime, the Hardrockers played a non-conference game Monday night against Nebraska Christian College.

The Sentinels started the game strong but couldn't keep up with South Dakota Mines who ended up winning by a score of 81-53.

Twelve different players scored for the Hardrockers who were led by Logan Elers with 17 points.

South Dakota Mines improves to 6-5 on the season. The Hardrockers resume Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action on December 30 when they play host to New Mexico Highlands.

Meanwhile, the Lady Hardrockers are going into the Christmas Break on the right foot after defeating Nebraska Christian College, 92-36, Monday night during a non-conference game at the King Center.

Five Hardrockers finished in double figures including Ryan Weiss who led the way with 13 points.

The win elevates SD Mines to 8-4 overall and will take a couple weeks off before getting back into Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action on December 30 when New Mexico Highlands comes to town.
