Saturday Sports Roundup: Lady Yellow Jackets remain perfect on the season

Posted: Updated:

The Black Hills State women's basketball team earned its first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference win on Friday night, after defeating the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs, 62-37.

With the victory, the Yellow Jackets improved to 7-0 on the season.

Black Hills State kept its perfect record intact on Saturday night, as the Lady Jackets downed MSU-Denver, 72-57.

Lyndzi Rich came off the bench to lead Black Hills State with 16 points. Julia Seamans and Rachel Erickson each finished with 13 points.

"I thought that our bench was huge," BHSU head coach Mark Nore said. "I think that was probably the catalyst for the game. But like I said, I think we were flat. I think they were flat. I mean they missed a lot of free throws tonight which they normally hit. We put them at the free throw line too much. It was a great start to the conference season."

The Yellow Jackets travel to Colorado on December 8-9 to play Colorado School of Mines and Colorado Christian.

Meanwhile, the Black Hills State men's basketball team fell to MSU-Denver, 62-56.

Dez Stoudamire led the way for BH with 17 points, while Fraser Malcolm added 10 points.

The Yellow Jackets drop to 4-2 on the season and 1-1 in the RMAC.
