RAPID CITY, S.D. -

Heading into the State 'AA' Volleyball Tournament, Rapid City Stevens head coach Kylie Voorhees likes where her team stands.

The No. 3 Raiders have won 20 out of their last 23 matches and enter the state tournament with a 28-6 record.

Stevens has qualified for the state volleyball tournament every year since 2000. In fact, the Raiders last won a state championship back in 2007 and finished third in 2008 and 2012.

The Raiders open their title quest on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center against the Huron Tigers.

Stevens defeated Huron twice during the regular season. However, their last match went five sets.

Coach Voorhees says her team feels confident heading into their first round match against Huron.

"We have a really good game plan," coach Kylie Voorhees said. "We've watched film. They've made some changes from the first, as well as, the second time that we played them. We have a good idea of what they're going to bring at us and we have a good strategy in play to help combat it."

"I mean we know a lot about them," Stevens freshman Julia Lee said. "We know their strengths. We know their weaknesses. We know what they like to run. What they don't like to run. I feel like we just know enough about them to hang with them and beat them."

The State Volleyball Tournament will feature all three classes.
