RAPID CITY, S.D. - In an effort to reinforce a security plan and reduce potential violence, Rushmore Mall is participating in active shooter training. Working with Homeland Security and state and local agencies, the drill will be Sept. 14 at 7:30 a.m.

All Rushmore Mall tenants are asked to participate, as the training will take place at throughout the building.

Rushmore Mall will be closed to the public during this time period, meaning no morning walkers will be allowed on the property.

The Rapid City Police Department, Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, Pennington County 911 Dispatch, and South Dakota Highway Patrol will be participating in the exercise.
