Big Rally plans for the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum

STURGIS, S.D. -

With the 77th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is underway, there’s no shortage of festivities in Sturgis. The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame has some special plans in store.

Those plans include live concerts on Main Street, flat track races at the museum, and a hall of fame ceremony for notable riders.

“The museum has a lot going on this year,” said Executive Director Myrick Robbins. “We are also in charge of the Pappy Hoel Speed Classic races out at the fairgrounds.”

Robbins says visitors should prepare for an exceptional experience, and there is no rally like the Sturgis Rally.

“People come here for the camaraderie and the experience that’s here,” said Robbins.

The museum will host a Hall of Fame Induction Breakfast on Aug. 9, to include The Buffalo Chip’s Founder Rod Woodruff as an inductee.

Of course, another big part of the Rally is the food. NewsCenter1’s Natasha Acrie met the owner of Big Dog food truck, stationed at the museum for the duration of the rally. She recommends their doughnuts, deep-fried pizza and iced tea.
