Killian's: Fusion style in the heart of Spearfish

Killian’s Food and Drink offers more than meat and potatoes. The eatery specializes in fusion-style cuisine and is celebrated as a local favorite.

The restaurant was established in July of 2012 by restaurateur Nick Caton. The experienced chef is a proud resident of Spearfish and is all about hard work and passion.

“We are highly eclectic but still fairly traditional,” Caton said. “I have a lot of fine dining and fusion techniques that I incorporate into elevated bar food.”

There are a variety of options to enjoy at this one-of-a-kind eatery: gourmet burgers, savory beef tips, specialty seafood dishes, and original creations. There are also plenty of options for beer enthusiasts.

Caton showed off a pub-plate, complete with warm beets and kale. “I use beets that we roast and pickle in house, two eggs, and Tabasco.”

The passionate chef enjoys serving his community, and says that business and everyday life is booming in the area.  

“I think Spearfish is highly eclectic and full of people that move here because they want to be here,” Caton said. “What we do in the restaurants, we do it because we want to be here as well.”

NewsCenter1’s Natasha Acrie paid the restaurant a visit and enjoyed sitting down with Spearfish locals who reaffirmed that you can search high and low, but there is no place like home.
