Emily Olson is from Stillwater, Minnesota, a suburb of the Twin Cities, where she attended Stillwater Area High School. In high school she was a part of the soccer, Nordic ski and track team (GO PONIES!). After high school Emily attended Bemidji State University where she majored in Mass Communication with a passion for reporting. While attending college Emily was captain of the Bemidji State soccer team (GO BEAVERS!) and also the sports director of KBSU Game Day. In her senior year she produced and anchored KBSU News. She gained more experience as a sports intern at Lakeland Public Television focusing on reporting and shooting highlights . After graduation she became a floor director at Fox9 in Minneapolis.
Her hobbies include playing soccer, skiing, running and telling bad jokes.
Emily is excited to check out the ‘great faces and great places’ of South Dakota and also be a part of the Rapid City community.
