HANKINSON, N.D. (AP) - Authorities say three people have died in an interstate crash in southeastern North Dakota. The Highway Patrol says a vehicle driven by a 15-year-old West Fargo boy was headed south on I-29 in Richland County Sunday when it veered off the road. The teen lost control, crossed the median and struck a northbound car driven by a 24-year-old Fargo woman. The woman, a 5-year-old girl in her vehicle and a 45-year-old passenger in the teen's vehicle died at the scene.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A standoff in Bismarck ended after about five hours after the man who had barricaded himself in a house apparently shot and killed himself. Officers responded to the house Sunday afternoon after a report of a possible robbery and gunshot. They heard more gunshots inside the home after they arrived. Members of a SWAT team eventually entered the home Sunday night and found the man dead.
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) - A Valley City man died over the weekend in a single-vehicle crash in Barnes County. The Highway Patrol says 67-year-old Kim Foell failed to negotiate a curve on a county road west of Valley City about 8 p.m. Saturday, and the vehicle rolled in a field. Foell was pronounced dead at the scene. He was traveling alone.
DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) - Authorities say a man who was riding a motorized bicycle that collided with a car in Devils Lake has died. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 53-year-old Wade Vetter, of Devils Lake, died Saturday in a Minot hospital. The accident happened about 2:32 p.m. Monday. The patrol says Vetter went through a red light and ran into driver's side of a Toyota Avalon that was proceeding through the intersection. Vetter was thrown from the bike. The driver of the car was not hurt.
