Apr. is sexual assault awareness month and Working Against Violence, Incorporated, WAVI, is working to educate the community on services available to victims.
WAVI provides services and care to victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault throughout the year. This month they are hoping to raise awareness through the community on sexual assault because it is the most under reported crime.
WAVI Executive Director Mary Corbine says, "I think the first step is educating the community but also making people aware of our services. When more people are aware of our services, more people are going to access them. So the more we educate, the more people will access and we'll be seeing more people."
