Members of the Rapid City Regional Hospital Auxiliary had much to celebrate as they donated a $30,000 check to of the Rapid City Regional Auxiliary Hospice House.

The group has donated $250,000 over the last three years to the hospice house.

Because of the groups generous contribution Rapid City Regional Health has decided to name the building after the auxiliary.

Hospital officials say they want the house to feel like as much like a home as possible for patients.

Some rooms feature a private deck for clients and family to use and others have patio areas to enjoy.

Hospice House Assistant Director Michelle Sieveke says, "The hospice house is meant to feel like a home setting.  It’s where we take care of patients at the end of life.  We want to be able to make them feel at home even though they are not in their own home, so the feeling of the hospice house is so that they can feel like wherever their home is, this is their home."

Hospital officials say the entire hospice house was paid for by community donations.
