For many car enthusiasts, the Sturgis Mustang Rally is an opportunity to show off a classic car or remodel, for others it's all about the speed.
Tyler Christopherson is one of many taking part in the autocross race this weekend as part of the Sturgis Mustang Rally.
He says his car, a labor of love, was just a regular stock model when he bought it three years ago, but he and his dad have been modifying it ever since.
This is Christopherson's fourth year participating in the Mustang Rally.
Last year he took eleventh in autocross, but this year he says he is ready for a win.
"I'm really excited to be here, I spend normally a couple of months getting ready to come up here, actually. The car didn't leave the garage until the day it came up here. So I am always really excited to get up here and see everything," says Christopherson.
The autocross kicks off Sunday at the Thunder Dome in Sturgis, located across the highway from the Full Throttle Saloon.
