The Humane Society of the Black Hills is facing a food shortage, and the shelter is making it easy for you to help.
Saturday, representatives for the Humane Society of the Black Hills are looking to "stuff the truck."
Representatives will be passing out lists of supplies they need at Wal-Mart in Rapid City, and while you're shopping, you can pick up some items and leave them in the truck.
It's a great way for people who love animals, but can't adopt, to help them in a different way.
"There’s so much that we go through on a daily basis at the shelter that because we are a non-profit organization, we can't really buy all that ourselves. So we’re asking for the support of the community to help us load up the shelter with the items that we use on a daily basis," says Karen Viscuso of the Humane Society of the Black Hills.
The truck will be at Wal-Mart from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, and even if you can't make it then, the Humane Society always accepts donations at it’s location on East St. Patrick Street Wednesday through Sunday.
Purina Dog Chow is what the shelter needs most at this time.
