Murder Mystery at Borders

A local author is making her debut by releasing her new murder mystery book on Wednesday. The book is called in the Belly of Jonah, written by author Sandra Brannan.
The story introduces a beloved female crime solver as an amateur sleuth tracking down the murderer of a summer intern at the Limestone Mine she manages near Fort Collins, Colorado. It's a fast paced mystery about risk, intelligence, and love. The author says a unique situation inspired her to write.
"When my youngest son was brought over from Vietnam he had a skin condition and the doctors didn't want me to touch him, and that was really hard for me. So I had to decide what to do with my hands and my mind, so I started writing. I loved it and I've been writing for 15 years," said Brannan.
There will be an author appearance and book signing on Wednesday night from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Borders, in Rapid City.
There will also be some prizes for people who go to the launch party.
