The Rapid City Police Department has a warning about a possible telephone scam.
The caller claims to represent Wal-Mart and asks for the debit card number you use at the store to confirm you're a customer.
In exchange the caller says you'll receive a gift card and/or a gas card. The Rapid City Police Department says never provide bank account numbers, credit card numbers, or personal information to any unsolicited caller. If you have been a victim in such a scam, please report it to law enforcement.
