More than 500 of the top ranked PRCA contestants are cowboying up to compete in this year's 88th Annual Day's of '76 Rodeo in Deadwood.

Tuesday the action kicked off.

The rodeo, which has taken home top honors, being named rodeo of the year for ten years in a row is sure to be an action packed event for the whole family to enjoy.

There will be rodeo performances Thursday Friday and Saturday night's at the historic Day's of 76 Rodeo grounds as well as parades on both Friday and Saturday down Deadwood's historic Main Street.

Day's of '76 Committee Chair Tim Conrad says, "This is just a great town, a great place to have a rodeo.  The history goes way back.  It's the 88th annual, we get a lot of the top cowboys in world here, we've got a good purse, the committee has been named rodeo of the year, ten times now.  We feel like we put on one of the best rodeos in the country.  We've got a great committee.  It's not just me, it’s the whole committee.  As a team we are the best.”

Saddle bronc riding is the rodeo's premier event and will feature some of South Dakota's top talent including Bryce Miller of Buffalo, J.J. Elshere of Quinn and Cody Taton of Newell.
