A woman has been killed in a small plane crash on the runway at the Spearfish Airport.
Spearfish Police say the pilot used his cell phone to call authorities from the wreckage of the plane, which crashed around 8 A.M. Saturday morning. The pilot was able to get out of the plane before help arrived and refused medical attention.
Police say a female passenger died at the scene. The name of the victim has not been released.
The Federal Aviation Administration is handling the investigation.
