As we begin the holiday weekend in celebration of the Fourth of July the Rapid City Fire Department is sending out a warning about the high fire danger.
In fact, fire fighters responded to four different fires around the Black Hills Friday.
The dry and windy conditions currently being seen have raised the fire danger, and when you add the mid 90 temps as we had Friday, the problem just gets worse.
Many of the activities that will be enjoyed by many people this weekend also have the potential of starting an uncontrolled wild land fire.
These include campfires, barbeques, and fireworks.
So the Rapid City Fire Department reminds you to make sure all campfires and barbeques are extinguished, and be extra cautious with fireworks especially in areas with high brush that fuel fires easily.
