It's a sad fact, but when the Humane Society of The Black Hills is full, animals have to be put to sleep for space.
Right now the shelter is at maximum capacity. So, to try and reduce euthanasia rates, the shelter will be holding an Adopt-a-thon this weekend at the dog park in Rapid City, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Dogs up for adoption will be at the dog park and at the humane society anxiously awaiting a new home and family to love them.
So if you're thinking about getting a pet, consider saving the life of one that desperately needs a good home.
