Four life-sized buffalo will soon be seen around the city of Custer.
They're not dangerous; in fact they are each hand painted pieces of art being featured in Custer Stampede.
Along with the big buffalo are some table top art pieces. Each one will be available for auction in September.
The Stampede is an annual event that gives artists a chance to get some exposure, but it also helps boost the local economy in the southern hills town.
Custer Stampede Patty Ressler says, "It's something that we are using to kind of drive tourism into the community. We are seeing that every year I get more and more inquiries from people wondering when the buffalo are going to be out.”
