Veterans Reminisce About Honor Flight

Last August, 114 veterans from Rapid City, took a trip to Washington D.C. to visit their World War II Memorial.

Thanks to a program called Honor Flight, the trip was free.

So it was fun for those vets to together for a reunion.

At the VFW in Rapid City, veterans and family members visited with each other about the trip.

They reminisced about old times and memories the memorial brought back.

They say it's important to remember those who have fallen.

One veteran says he's impressed with the program, and it means a lot to have a reunion. “We were the first in line for the food, and it's real good, and acquainting ourselves that were on the Honor Flight before, especially the staff they are such a great group of people," says veteran Hilary Cole.

"For the most part, veterans now have had time to share their stories, and we were able to put together all of the photos that were accumulated together,” says Dave Landry of Honor Flight.

Everyone received a CD with those photos.

The veterans say they're excited to share the memories with their family members.
