The downtown improvement district and a Main Street Square in Rapid City is one step closer to a reality.
A parking lot is the proposed location for the downtown business improvement district, or DID.
The Legal and Finance Committee voted Wednesday to approve the second reading to establish the district.
But, Alderman Aaron Costello says there are still a lot of people who are questioning what exactly the Main Street Square will be.
“There needs to be a continued effort on letting people know what the vision is, what the scope is, what the money that is essentially being put on businesses is going to,” says Costello.
