Friday, the Rapid City Police Department arrested several drivers at a DUI checkpoint in Rapid City.

The police arrested nine people for driving under the influence.

Authorities also issued tickets for underage consumption, possession of marijuana, driving under suspension, and drug paraphernalia.

Overall, over 500 cars passed through the checkpoint.

Deputies with the Pennington County Sheriff's Office assisted with the checkpoint.
