SF Man Abuses Child

A Sioux Falls man is behind bars accused of critically injuring his girlfriend's 3-year-old son.
Authorities have arrested Thomas William Ohrtman and charged him with abuse and cruelty to a minor under the age of seven.
The young boy suffered bruising all over his body, skull fractures, internal injury to his organs, and bleeding in the brain.
Police say it was hours after the alleged beating that the child was taken to the hospital. Police say the mother was at home sleeping at the time of incident, but at this time she is not facing nay charges.
The hospital called police after observing the boy.
