Some local stores are opening early on Monday, because cash for appliances is about to begin.
Government officials are hoping energy star appliances will replace old inefficient appliances.
The mail in rebate program kicks off on Monday and will go until the state runs out of its more than $770,000 budget. And many local stores are getting ready for the rush.
Clothes washers can be cashed in for $100.
Dishwashers are worth $75.
Refrigerators and freezers get you $150 and water heaters $125.
