Downtown businesses got about a 10 percent boost during this year's Stock Show, thanks in part to free trolley service from the Civic Center to the downtown area which helped many people make their way to the stores.
Owners and managers say they saw the biggest traffic during the weekend, they say the Stock Show brings a pretty good boost to their sales, especially at a time when some stores are a little bit slower.
Jeanne Simon said, "This time of year you kind of need that boost, until the tourists come back so it's very helpful to us."
Heath Epperson said, "It does bring in a crowd, of stock show goers, you can tell talking to the customers that they're in for the stock show."
Epperson says they saw about the same increase in customers come through their doors this year as they did last year even though attendance numbers at the stock show itself were down.
