At this year's Stock Show and Rodeo you can find great rodeo action and interesting vendor booths.
One thing you might not be looking for until you need it is the medical staff.
An EMT with the Rapid City Fire Department packs his medical bag behind the scenes at the Stock Show.
Each day there are at least two mobile medics like these on hand to help out patrons of the event.
“As a mobile medic we can pretty much deal with anything we're ready to deal with out of the ambulance, we carry all of our advanced life support medications and all that stuff,” says Robert Rendon of the Rapid City Fire Department.
And the health and well being of the livestock at the Stock Show is just as valuable, which is why there is a veterinarian on site for the cattle sales and the rodeo events.
“The most common thing I would see would be colic in horses, lacerations, thank goodness most of the time in the rodeo events we don't see a lot of illness or things like that. Most of the time my job is pretty easy for those,” says Animal Clinic Veterinarian, Dr. Wesley Wood.
EMT's say they've only had to deal with minor health issues like asthma attacks, allergic reactions, and some minor heart conditions.
