New Wave of Snow Settles In

Goodbye flip-flops, welcome back snow boots.

The snow started Thursday morning and just keeps coming down.

On Rapid City’s west side Thursday afternoon, traffic was moving along with snow covered cars on snow covered roads that were turning icy.

There were a few reports of weather related accidents.

But, so far many people are avoiding fender-benders by driving slow.

But, a South Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper wasn't so lucky this morning.

The trooper's vehicle was involved in an early-morning crash, on I-29

Trooper Steve Schade, was investigating another accident, when a driver in an SUV plowed into him.

He was treated and released from a Sioux Falls Hospital as a result of the crash.

No other injuries were reported.
