South Dakota legislators appear cool to the idea of allowing 19 and 20 year olds to drink beer in bars that have a special license.
About 60 percent of lawmakers responding to an Associated Press survey said they oppose the idea, which might surface in the legislative session that opens Tuesday. Eighteen percent said they would support it, and the remaining 22 percent said they are undecided.
One of the big unknowns is whether it would jeopardize federal highway funds that are tied to a state's minimum drinking age.
