There's little support among South Dakota lawmakers for raising taxes and fees to maintain and improve state and local roads.

Only a quarter of those surveyed by the Associated Press say they'd support a proposal for raising the state gas tax, the excise tax in vehicle sales, and the annual vehicle registration fees.

In other state legislature news, Gov. Mike Rounds says South Dakota has made efficient use of its federal stimulus money.

He says the state has spent $276 million of the $655 million allocated to state agencies.

Stimulus money helped create 845 jobs in the state in the final three months of 2009.
