Bob received a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology from Penn
State University and a Masters degree in Meteorology from the South Dakota
School of Mines and Technology.
For the past 45 years Bob has forecasted the weather for Air Force pilots,
government officials, industry and TV, conducted cloud and rainfall research,
and reported about weather’s impact on air quality. I wrote a weekly newspaper
weather column and presented numerous public speaking engagements to local
officials, civic groups, schools and industry on various weather topics.
Bob is actively involved with the Rapid City Air Quality Board, the
Salvation Army, Junior Achievement and the Children’s Miracle Network.
Bob is married wife, Linda, for the past 30 plus years and together we
have three children and four grandchildren. When not working at NewsCenter1 you
can find Bob outdoors either fly fishing, playing golf, playing tennis,
snow skiing, or riding his motorcycle; weather-permitting of course.
You can tweet Bob @BobRiggio and check out the NC1 Weather Facebook page.
