Family of DAV Van Driver Speaks of I90 Deadly Accident
The sister of the man who was driving the Disabled American Veterans van Tuesday when it crashed along Interstate-90, says her brother, Shawn Henry Speirs is in stable condition.
Speirs has been a volunteer with the DAV for the past year.
Authorities say Spiers was driving a van for the Disabled American Veterans when he began to change lanes and collided with a second car.
Both vehicles rolled, one man, Kristian Sateren was thrown from the van and died from his injuries.
Five other passengers inside the van were injured and transported to Rapid City Regional hospital.
Family members tell NewsCenter1 Shawn Speirs broke his arm in multiple places and is in the hospital waiting for surgery.
