A 39-year old man was pulled from Pactola Reservoir Wednesday afternoon after a drowning incident that was called in just before 1:30PM.
The man was not breathing when he was pulled from the water and was pronounced dead during transport to Regional Hospital.Rescue crews attempted but were unable to revive him on the way.
Witnesses say the man was fishing from a dock on the lake's northwest side with a relative when he fell in. The man was eventually located and pulled to safety, but was not breathing when brought to shore.
Rescue responders believe the man may have suffered a medical emergency before falling into the water.
