Exploring Ideas for the Future of RC Regional Airport
Tuesday business owners and city leaders explored ideas to improve the Rapid City Regional Airport to ultimately bring more people into the Black Hills.
Tuesday’s meeting was an opportunity to look at the future of Rapid City especially the air service and how to improve it and bring more inbound groups to our community.
Trying to think of ideas to drive inbound traffic into Rapid City Regional Airport both for business and leisure is a huge community effort and airport officials say inbound demand is one of the most important aspects of air travel.
“The inbound demand gives us the air service that we had and it also has the potential for the greatest growth so one of the things that we're working on is how do we improve inbound demand, how do we get more people flying into Rapid City and the Black Hills,” says Cameron Humphres, the Executive Director of the Rapid City Regional Airport.
About 60% of people coming into the Black Hills are inbound travelers like tourists and business travelers that officials say can truly bring a huge economic boost to our community.
