BHP Prepares for Winter Storm
Black Hills Power is gearing up for the storm and reminds its customers to stay safe during hazardous weather conditions.
Black Hills Power employees are preparing for any weather related service issues. At the first sign of any power outages, employees will be on call and respond as soon as possible. But with deteriorating road conditions and possible terrain issues, trouble spots may be difficult to reach and could delay service time.
"Another challenge to remember in winter storms, especially heavy snow storms is the condition of the terrain. We live in the beautiful Black Hills, with the Black Hills comes some pretty tugged terrain. So that sometimes prolongs the outages a little bit. That's why we ask our customers to be as patient as possible and remember that we're working hard to restore that power." says Mutch Usera, External Affairs associate at Black Hills Power.
Saftey is the number one concern for black hills power and if conditions are labeled as wsevere and dangerous, employees will wait until conditions improve before responding to a power related incident. Black Hills Power also urges customers to stay safe as well and if any problems occus to caall them and report the issue so they can respond as quickly as possible.
