Two Rapid City Soccer Players Sign with Morningside
Two more Rapid City Central athletes have decided to take their talents to the next level.
Malaika Burke signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play women's soccer at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.
Burke, who plans to major in nursing, was a member of the Central soccer team for the past three years and she helped lead the Cobblers to a fifth place finish at the 2012 Girls State Soccer Tournament.
In addition, Adam Johnson also signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play soccer at Morningside College.
Johnson just wrapped up his fifth year of playing for the cobblers.
He was named first team all-state in 2012.
Both athletes talked about their decision to play soccer at Morningside College.
Burke says, “When I visited Morningside College, I really liked the campus and the girls were really nice. I just really like the team. I fell in love with everything about it.”
Johnson says, “I was actually looking at a few other colleges. One it didn't work out for one school. The other school wasn't the right fit. Morningside was the place for me I guess.”
