Local Construction Company Receives National Award

A Spearfish construction company is receiving national recognition for their work at the Sanford Underground Lab.

Ainsworth-Benning Construction received the 2013 Alliant Build America Award for the Davis Campus Underground Outfitting Project at the Sanford Lab.

"It was an honor, its rare that you get one of those [awards] and you have to have a project that's really special to compete against contractors against all over the United States and have a chance at winning the award," says James Benning, owner of Ainsworth-Benning Construction.

Only 17 of The Alliant Build Award is given throughout the county for projects under $10-million by the Associated General Contractors of America.
