For some several hundred people who were looking for a job, the Stock Show and Rodeo was just the answer they were looking for.
This season the Civic Center hired over 700 employees, most of which are part-time.
Along with those hired by the Central States Fair, there are about 1,000 people working the Stock Show this year.
Officials say most people are working a second job and only around 42 are full time employees at the Civic Center.
Brian Maliske, the general manager at the Civic Center says, "The economic impact in the meddle of winter when nothing else is going on is huge and it’s really important, and of course for the people that are trying to earn a few extra dollars to get their kids through college it’s really important for the personal lives."
Maliske says that economic impact from employing all the staff as well as the show itself will be between $40 and $50 million.
