A former Box Elder resident who allegedly led police officers on a high speed chase on January 10th and shot at authorities is now charged with seven felony counts.
The Pennington County State's Attorney's Office confirms 42-year old James Baker is charged with attempted first-degree murder and six other felonies stemming from the alleged incident.
During the January chase, Baker allegedly opened fire on authorities. They returned fire and shot him twice.
The DCI is still reviewing the facts of the case to make a determination on the officers' actions.
Those findings should be released within the next week or so.
